What I Heard
Today was a very sad day. The lover Jimmy Cross came up to me later today and told me that they lost one of their close friends in combat, his name was Ted Lavender. After his death Jimmy ended up burning his loves pictures so he would not get distracted and consintrat more on his men and take care of them. He realized how much he was putting his platoon in danger by only really foucusing on the love of his life. Jimmy then focused on his men got their attention on what he wanted them to do. They had a burial for Ted Lavender everyone each put something in that reminded them of him or something that he gave them. Later after the burial they all left him behind but they will never forget good old Teddy.

I was the reason why Ted died. I know now that i was dumb letting a women that doesn't love me the way i love her get in the way of my men. I have learned i can't just burn away the pain, but its time i start focusing on my duties as Lutenant of this platoon. I am going to try harder then ever to be a great commander and keep my men safe.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to find out answers, but that fact that I had to find out through here is just ridiculous. I cannot believe that he actually burned the letters I wrote to him, I was just trying to remind him of home, give him a little comfort. I didn't mean to get in the way of the war at all and I am very sorry for the loss of your friend.
ReplyDeleteMay Ted Lavender rest in peace.
